[Edit]This is certainly an unusual recording, both in instrumentation and repertoire. The trio of bassoonist Martin Kuuskmann, William Schimmel on accordion, and percussionist David Rozenblatt explore everything from "Harbor Lights" and "Autumn Leaves" to "Tantric Bartok," "Peppermint Twist," "Stairway to Honey" (which mixes together "Stairway to Heaven" with "A Taste of Honey"), and "Walk on the Wild Side." The playing is excellent, the blending of the bassoon with the accordion is certainly unique, and the interpretations of the eclectic material is witty without being satirical. Once one gets into this music, it is difficult to resist.
