Details
[Edit]Also known as Freddie Foxxx, Bumpy Knuckles is a true O.G., with a hip-hop pedigree that stretches back to the '80s. His first album (produced by Eric B) dropped back in 1989, and he was also part of Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit crew. His signature rough-and-rugged style was showcased on show-stealing cameos with the likes of Boogie Down Productions, M.O.P., and Gang Starr, as well as on his undeniably classic 2000 release Industry Shakedown. Over the last several years, he's dropped a slew of high-caliber collabo albums, working with fellow icons KRS-One (Royalty Check) and DJ Premier (The Kolexxxion), as well as Statik Selektah (Lyrical Workout) and Jesse West (Music From the Man Vol. 1). This EP sets the tone for his forthcoming full-length Lock'd N the Lab, and it finds him delivering typically rowdy yet intelligent wordplay over some quality midtempo beats. He produces it entirely himself; standouts here include "Sumn' Wrong," "Ask the Coach," and "Keep on Grinding."
