Details
[Edit]Most of Charlie Byrd's Columbia albums of 1965-71 feature the acoustic guitarist (usually accompanied by a string section) playing brief versions of inferior pop tunes. This LP is better than most of Byrd's Columbias for the tunes (with a couple of exceptions) are more timeless and the trio (which also includes bassist Joe Byrd and drummer Bill Reichenbach) are just joined by trumpeter Hal Posey and Teo Macero on tenor. there are several fine bossa-nova tunes on the date plus such selections as a pair of Alec Wilder ballads ("I'll Be Around" and "It's So Peaceful in the Country") and "Work Song."
