Details
[Edit]This release from Brazilian pop star Chico César follows the world stream. Bringing several different Brazilian rhythms mixed with contemporary languages such as rap, it may not be evident that northeastern embolada was already a Brazilian discursive/rhythmic expression 100 years before rap. On the other hand, it's an interesting release and fits the bill accordingly, a fully danceable record with interesting melodies over contemporary rhythms such as reggae and ska, competently performed by an excellent band with a focus on the instigating rhythmic treatment, always based in Brazilian grooves. The album brings Cesar's hits "Mama África" and "À Primeira Vista." All songs are by Chico César. This release was awarded with the Prêmio Sharp and by APCA.
