Details
[Edit]Remembered most for his late-'60s/early-'70s Atlantic albums and his Muscle Shoals rhythm section, Clarence Carter had a few big hits — "Patches," "Slip Away," "Too Weak to Fight," "Strokin'" — and a lot of minor hits. The Best of Clarence Carter does an adequate job collecting the mandatory classics like "Patches" and "Slip Away," along with a few of Carter's lesser-known songs like "Lovely Day" and "Back Stabbers." Nothing about this particular collection sets it apart from the many similar Carter best-ofs out there, except maybe that "Strokin'" is surprisingly missing.
