Details
[Edit]Underworld is a fusion CD from Dagda. This ensemble combines Celtic textures and new ambient rhythms and atmospheres in this nod to the home of "Celtic gods, poets, sages and druids." It is a veritable hotbed of Celtic legend and mythology. (The liner notes relate some of the myths in great detail.) The music is wonderful. Traditional Celtic lends itself well to rhythmic ambience. This trio — presumably, Reg Keating, John Connoly, and Philip O'Reilly — designed this well. Neither style dominates. That is the success of this disc — it is true fusion. It will appeal to fans of Bill Whelan and Danna & Clement.
