[Edit]Almost as thrilling as Definitive's In Solitaire, Django Reinhardt's Two Is Company compiles his complete studio duets recorded between 1937 and 1942. Participants consist of violinists Eddie South, Michel Warlop and Stéphane Grappelli (who is also heard at the piano); string bassist Louis Vola; trumpeter Bill Coleman; alto saxophonist Andre Ekyan and pianist Ivon de Bie. Note that Reinhardt switches between guitar and violin on "Vous et Moi" and "Blues en Mineur." These are said to be his only extant violin recordings. Here then are 27 examples of Django Reinhardt's unforgettable artistry the way it sounded whenever another musician was fortunate enough to be able to record with him face-to-face, one-on-one.
