Hundred Hands is led by members of the Appleseed Cast, Aaron Pillar and Chris Crisci. Along with drummer Ed Rose (who is known for his production work on numerous bands), they form a threesome most obviously influenced by the Appleseed Cast, yet differences abound. Pillar tackles the vocals on Hundred Hands, and the sound is much more typical of what one would expect from earlier Appleseed Cast and not their latest spacey, jazz-influenced material. Production wise, Ed Rose can do no wrong. He helps to bring out Pillar's velvety soft vocals and the textured guitars and steady beats. While everything sounds good on Little Eyes, what's actually there is rather average. "Spider Eyes" and "Farewell" are the winners on this six song EP, but all in all this project could and should be stronger considering the members involved.
