[Edit]Pianist Jim Bajor offers some unusual arrangements of carols and popular modern Christmas tunes on his debut holiday album. The first half features solo piano renditions, played on the Steinway grand, of pieces ranging from "First Noel" to "Jingle Bells," and from "White Christmas" to the self-penned title track, with Bajor's silky-smooth touch contrasting with some very jazzy arrangements. The second half introduces a three-man ensemble, consisting of guitar, bass and drums, providing some rhythmic punch and further adding to the jazzy ambience. Tunes like "We Three Kings of Orient Are" and "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" are given the full upbeat treatment, while "Silent Night" is played as a beautiful duet between piano and classical guitar.
