Details
[Edit]Back in the early '00s, the Harlem crew The Diplomats (a.k.a. Dipset) were absolutely huge. Cam'Ron and Jim Jones were the founders, though Freeky Zeeky, Juelz Santana, and several others were eventually added to the lineup. They racked up huge singles, both individually and collectively, and expanded their empire into clothing, skateboards, and various other industries. As the money stacked up, assorted beefs emerged, most notably Cam vs. Jim, Cam vs. 50 Cent, and Jim vs. Jay-Z. Still best known for his 2005 anthem "We Fly High" (a.k.a. "Ballllllin!"), the Capo returns with The Seven Day Theory. Hosted by DJ Drama, this 29-track mixtape certainly has its moments, though it remains to be seen whether it'll catapult Jones back into the spotlight. Old-school Dipset fans will definitely be into the husky verses, overtly thuggish rhymes, and brash production, and plenty of ByrdGang affiliates show up to lend a hand. Highlights include "Code Red," "Black Superman," and the '80s flashback "Beverly Hills Cop."
