Details
[Edit]Folk singer and songwriter John McCutcheon has generally followed a neo-Appalachian approach during his career, but he's also experimented and expanded traditional sounds and songs within that template, finding ways to work outside the box while simultaneously preserving the structure and integrity of the box itself, which is often much easier said than done. This retrospective, originally released in this configuration on 1989, collects his early sides for June Appal, Front Hall, and other labels, but also includes more work from Rounder Records, and three previously unreleased songs.
