[Edit]As with the best jazz musicians, violinist L. Subramaniam has carved out his own unique area of music. Originally an Indian classical musician, Subramaniam developed into an expert improviser who combined together several jazz styles (including fusion and straight-ahead) with the strong influence of his homeland's heritage. On his fourth and thusfar final Milestone recording, Subramaniam plays seven originals, varying the personnel on each number. Among his guests are trumpeter Maynard Ferguson, Bud Shank on alto and flute, guitarist Larry Coryell, keyboardist Mark Massey and drummer Tony Williams.
