This LP from French Columbia gathers together a variety of alternate takes and rare material usually featuring the great tenor of Lester Young. The word "usually" is used because the two selections by Jerry Kruger's Orchetra actually have Kermit Scott (not Young as listed) on tenor. Otherwise the LP includes the alternate takes of "Shoe Shine Boy" (from 1936), "Lester Leaps In" and two of "Dickie's Dream" by The Kansas City Seven in 1939, Young's solo on the jam session version of "Honeysuckle Rose" performed at Benny Goodman's famous Carnegie Hall concert and the six numbers cut by organist Glenn Hardman with an allstar quintet in 1939. Excellent music, most of which is now available elsewhere.
