Hall follows up his debut with an overall fine effort that should provide lighter and easier access to fans of the singer/songwriter's former band the Wild Seeds. Love Is Murder reunites Hall with former Wild Seed'ssinger Kris McCay — who adds backup vocals to the rockin' "Demolition Moon," and sings lead on the gorgeous "Baby, You Scare Me." Hall's sharp wit and funny observations are fortunately still very much intact, as demonstrated in album highlights — "Let's Take Some Drugs and Drive Around," "Put Down That Pig" and "What Did They Do with the President's Brain?"
