This enjoyable Dixieland LP features cornetist Muggsy Spanier on a dozen selections taken from Rudi Blesh's This Is Jazz radio series in 1947. The broadcasts are gradually being made available in full by GHB/Jazzology, but Muggsy's fans should enjoy hearing the cornetist as the main star of these particular renditions. Spanier is joined by trombonist George Brunies, clarinetist Albert Nicholas, pianists Joe Sullivan, Luckey Roberts or Charlie Queener, guitarist Danny Barker, bassist Pops Foster and drummer Baby Dodds on twelve songs that he performed frequently throughout his career.
