[Edit]If you haven't yet discovered the mountain music of Puerto Rico, you are in for a major revelation. Chuito (Jesus Sanchez) was, in a sense, its re-creator — the man who first sang the classic decima form on the radio, until then dominated by Cuban music. On this recording, his first, he was backed by the great cuatro-player Claudio Ferrer and his group. Ramito was the uncontested male champion of the next generation, and Ferrer a virtuoso who revolutionized cuatro-picking and pointed the way for more famous players like Yomo Toro. Here's two generations, and in fact, two approaches to living tradition. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music, Rovi
