With roots in the most obscured private-press loner folk, songwriter Danielle Stech-Homsy has worked under the name Rio en Medio since releasing her debut, Bride of Dynamite, in 2006. Peace Sequence is her third collection of mediative and dusty tracks, offering up nine songs of insular acoustic guitar and vocals from Stech-Homsy, accompanied at times by koto master Shoko Hikage and organ player Nathan Shineywater. Coming from the same state of hushed psychedelia as Linda Perhacs and Vashti Bunyan, Peace Sequence stretches into more arid atmospheres, reflecting the California and New Mexico desert surroundings where it was recorded., Rovi
