Yet another country-fried collection of crank calls from that fictional character called Roy D. Mercer — Oklahoma DJ Brent Douglas' alter ego — Black & Blue comes off as a dumber, more friendly Jerky Boys or a more Hee Haw minded episode of Crank Yankers. Unlike any of the other prankers mentioned above, Mercer breaks character quite often towards the end of his calls, letting his victims in on the joke and giving them a chance to laugh it off. If this kind of pleasant pranking is more to your taste, go ahead and give Black & Blue a try, or any of the other 12 releases from Mercer, which only fanatics can tell apart. This one will probably go down as the one with "Bathroom Magic," a hilarious request for a magician in the commode directed at a company where "alls we do is re-porcelain sinks and tubs." The prankee/employee doesn't see "Bathroom Magic" as a weird name, and when she decides to recommend an adult toy store instead, well, that's what you call prime Mercer.
