Details
[Edit]Respected around globe for their systematically organized arrangements of sonic insanity, Japanese drumset and bass guitar duo Ruins released their 1998 album Symphonica on John Zorn's Tzadik label. As Tzadik has played host to a variety of other avant-garde Japanese acts (e.g. another Tatsuya Yoshida project, Zubi Zuva, and the eardrum rupturing Merzbow), Ruins complement the label's roster of talented artists. On Symphonica Tatsuya Yoshida (drums/voice) and Hisashi Sasaki (bass), collaborate with Eleonola Emi (vocals), Aki Kubota, (vocals), and Kenichi Oguchi on keys. The result is something like a Ruins big band that emphasizes electronic keyboard passages and operatic vocal outbursts.
