[Edit]Though the group's movement from traditional Irish music toward a more contemporary sound is generally held to date from Light in the Western Sky, Stockton's Wing was already playing with other ideas on Take a Chance. Though most of the music here consists of spirited versions of traditional tunes, there's a hint of Nashville pop around the vocal arrangements on the title song and "Ten Thousand Miles." Take a Chance is an album that a strict traditionalist can still enjoy, but one that shows at least a hint of what was to come.
