[Edit]Detroit power poppers the High Strung began their road-warrior tenure of extensive touring and recording in 2000 when most of the bandmembers were living in Brooklyn. Before their landmark album These Are Good Times dropped in 2003, the High Strung had a series of self-released, self-recorded EPs that were only available for a time at their numerous shows. Originally released in 2001, Soap was the first of these, including seven ambitious tracks equal parts gritty and catchy. Songs like "Wrecking Ball, Baby" fall somewhere between the influence of the Beatles' production and Kiss' sleazy riffs.
