[Edit]Since 2000 was such a breakout year for the "insidious" Timo Maas, it comes only as a small surprise that reissues are coming out of the woodwork. Der Schieber repackages a year-old track, adds some new remixes, and — voila — you get a chubby, chilly series of techno tracks splattered with what appears to be pissed-off trance. The original mix tiptoes around all sorts of battered disco hi-hats before it stumbles over a large case labeled "hostility," but the "Funkin for Hope in NY Mix" is the most appealing. Bipolar and brooding, it creatively splices in bursts of groovy bass and '80s Depeche Mode effects that would work well for some sort of anti-gravity breakdancing competition.
