Details
[Edit]An interesting percussive score for a 1989 science fiction film directed by David Peoples. Boekelheide's main basis for the score structure seems to have been an array of percussion samples created by abusing scrap metal in a basement. The string and brass elements of the score, providing an orchestral emphasis, are mainly there to fill in the musical picture, though there are some horn figures (as in "A Game at Samchin") that act as fanfares. Boekelheide has concentrated mainly on a mix of driving percussion and odd, dark synthesized tones, however, the result of which is a gripping score and a compelling album.
