[Edit]Fredrik von Hamilton records as Vampire Nation. Wise-Ta-Nech is a set of deep atmospheres and heavy rhythms with spoken samples and narration telling the tale of the beginnings of African slavery. Von Hamilton plans to release a series of CDs following that tragedy as it unfolded. Future releases will be on Hexagon Records, owned and operated by Fred Banks out of Pittsburgh, PA. As far as this CD, deep electronics and drum machines propel this soundscape into a frenzy. The rhythm approaches techno in beats per minute, but stays within itself. The atmospheres surround the rhythm; they become the focus. The focus then shifts back and forth, never settling on one texture. The confusion is intentional; the African people were totally confused as the Europeans took their freedom. This is totally unique electronica. It has elements of funk and rock & roll to create a balance. The closest comparisons are the Orb, System Seven, and Orbital. For its historical importance alone, this CD is essential.
