[Edit]In the doo wop revival of the early '60s, the Vogues (formerly the Val-Aires on Dot and Cascade) from Pittsburgh were certainly not the definitive group from that time period, not even close. What gave them their slot in the immortality sweepstakes came a few years later when they laid their vocal-group harmonies over the emerging folk-rock sound of the mid-'60s and scored big with classics like "Five O'Clock World," "Magic Town," and the title cut. While this 16-track compilation contains neither their early sides as the Val-Aires or their later sides for Warner Brothers, it's all you'll ever need to own on this group.
