Biography
[Edit]Mickey Murray parlayed a modest impression of Otis Redding into a surprising pop-chart entry in 1967, with "Shout Bamalama" making it nearly halfway up the Top 100. Murray recorded over a dozen sides for SSS Int'l, but follow-ups like his self-penned "Lonely Room" and the hard funk of "Hit Record" failed to generate any chart action. Collectables compiled 18 of his best for 1999's Shout Bamalama: The Very Best of Mickey Murray.
