Biography
[Edit]An atmospheric post-rock duo, Minit were formed by Jasmine Guffond and Torben Tilly in 1997 in Sydney, Australia. Over the years, Guffond and Tilly would add live performance and installation work to their résumé, and would release a number of records for a handful of labels. Working with Tonshact (with which they released a 7" EP) and Sigma (1999's full-length, Music), Minit developed their work, culminating in a well-received 2004 album on Pavone, Now Right Here. As time wore on, Minit — fitting nicely next to the rise of atmospheric post-rock à la Kranky Records in the early part of the 21st century — would add to their live show, incorporating more instrumentation. The pair would later make their base of operations in the decidedly more experimental music-friendly Berlin, Germany.
